Schedule of Events

 

Dear Members,

Our garden visit this year will be to Badgers, a private, 2-acre garden on the outskirts of Hawkhurst.  The date for the visit is Tuesday 27th August, a little later than usual but the owner recommended this date to catch her beautiful tropical garden at its best.

The cost will be £5 entry ( standard NGS price) plus £4 for tea and homemade cakes, if you would like to partake!  We’ll meet there at 2.30pm and we’ll collect your money at the gate.

The garden is about 11 miles from High Halden so, although there is plenty of parking, car-sharing might be a good option.  Directions to the garden will be sent out to those who decide to come along.

The garden is beautiful and promises to be even more stunning in August.  However, it is quite sloping, with several sets of steps (which are solidly built) so be prepared!  The owners have a special interest in tropical plants, and they will happily answer any questions you might have, but there’s plenty more to see.  They also have a large beautiful sitting space, where the teas will be served, which allows for lovely views.
